Here's a little history on the creation of the movie.
Basically, Ed Wood, Jr. couldn't afford to pay the lab he used to process the film, so it sat in the lab for 24 years until Williams paid the bill. Williams had professional editors edit together the movie that exists today.

Pretty sure "The Sinister Urge" is copyrighted, too. Think that just about covers Crazy Eddie, huh?

If you've got a better copy of
The Violent Years (1956) than the
one here, you could upload that and it would be appreciated. The one here is 56 minutes long and not very good quality. The movie is listed as running 65 minutes at
IMDb.

Re: Night of the Ghouls (1959) (Ed Wood Movie) |
I wonder what the case would be if the onscreen notice in the film itself and the notice registered in the copyright records don't jive? An error in the year, for example. Wouldn't that toss out any renewal efforts?

Re: Night of the Ghouls (1959) (Ed Wood Movie) |
I think you must be responding to a different post. Anyway, an error like you're describing would make a renewal registration void. Say the notice in a film was 1959, but the renewal read "in notice: 1958", then the renewal wouldn't count.

You're right, sorry. I do have a particular film in mind that has exactly that error in the original registration.

Re: Night of the Ghouls (1959) (Ed Wood Movie) |
I remember buying a Beta tape of Sinister Urge about 30 years ago from an outfit in Toronto Canada called Admit One Video. One of my earliest movie purchases. I think the very first tape I owned was Brain From Planet Arous, also on Beta, from Admit One. They were a great source for cult movie and TV tapes at the time, along with Video Yesteryear.
